Interdisciplinary perspectives are strongly encouraged.

Peer Review Process

All research article submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process. Both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to one another to ensure objectivity and fairness.

Editorial Screening

Editors initially screen submissions for the following.

  • Alignment with the journal’s scope
  • Methodological rigor
  • Scholarly contribution and originality

External Review

Manuscripts passing initial screening are sent to at least two qualified reviewers with relevant subject-matter expertise.

Based on reviewer feedback, the editorial team makes one of the following decisions.

  • Accept
  • Minor Revision
  • Major Revision
  • Reject

While empirical research is particularly valued, LET-IN also welcomes high-quality theoretical and conceptual contributions.

Submission and Publication Timeline

Initial Review

Authors are generally notified of the initial editorial and peer-review decision within approximately three months of submission. Timelines may vary depending on reviewer availability and manuscript scope.

Publication Schedule

LET-IN follows a continuous publication model. Articles are published individually as soon as they have successfully completed peer review, editorial preparation, copyediting, and production, without waiting for the completion of a full issue. Published articles are assigned to the current annual volume and become the version of record immediately upon publication. The journal does not operate on a fixed issue-based publication schedule; instead, articles are added continuously throughout the year.

Reviewer Evaluation Criteria

Reviewers assess manuscripts using the following criteria.

  • Clarity and Structure – Organization, coherence, and clarity of presentation
  • Problem Definition – Clear articulation and significance of the research problem
  • Scope and Relevance – Contribution beyond a single context to the broader field
  • Originality – Novel perspectives, findings, or approaches
  • Theoretical Grounding – Appropriate engagement with relevant theory when applicable
  • Literature Engagement – Depth and currency of scholarly references
  • Methodological Soundness – Appropriateness and rigor of methods
  • Analysis and Interpretation – Accuracy and depth of data analysis and interpretation
  • Argumentation – Logical, well-supported reasoning
  • Practical Value – Implications for theory, research, policy, or practice

Reviewers rate each dimension using a standardized scale and provide detailed developmental feedback.

Complete submission requirements are available on the Guidelines page.

Publication Frequency

LET-IN follows a continuous publication model. Articles are published online individually as soon as they have successfully completed the peer-review, editorial, copyediting, and production processes. Rather than waiting for the completion of a scheduled issue, articles are added continuously to the current annual volume throughout the year. The journal therefore does not follow a fixed issue-based publication schedule.
