Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • Submission is in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
  • The text employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to APA 7th edition stylistic and referencing requirements for the entire article, including the references and tables/figures, as outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • The submission has been anonymized for double-blind peer review. Author names have been removed from the manuscript, including citations and references (replaced with “Author” or “Deleted for Peer Review”), and all identifying information has been removed from the document properties.
  • All electronic references include a DOI when available; if no DOI is available, a full URL is provided instead. All links are active and accessible.
  • When submitting to a Special Issue, explicitly state the Special Issue title both in your manuscript title and in the editor comments field.
  • The word count is between 6,000 and 10,000 words and is indicated on the front page.
  • Data were collected and analyzed using appropriate procedures, with careful protection of participants’ privacy. The researcher(s) confirm compliance with ethical principles governing research with human participants, including those articulated in the Declaration of Helsinki.
  • If any AI tool (e.g., Grok, ChatGPT) was used in developing the manuscript, the article includes an explicit statement disclosing and acknowledging that use.
  • I affirm full personal responsibility for the manuscript’s accuracy, integrity, and originality, including the completeness and correctness of all citations and references.

Author Guidelines

The aim of Learning and Teaching Innovations (LET-IN) is to disseminate high-quality scholarly research, theory, and best practices related to innovations in learning and teaching to academics, practitioners, and policymakers worldwide.

Authors submit manuscripts online by registering with the journal’s submission system, logging in, and following the guided submission process. There are no article submission, processing, or access charges for publication in LET-IN. For technical difficulties with the submission system, please contact the editorial team at editor@letinrd.org

  • Submission topics must focus on innovations in learning and teaching and may be placed in the Research Articles, Literature Reviews.
  • Research Articles must be 6,000–10,000 words (including references, appendices, tables, and figures). Submissions falling outside this range will not be sent for review.
  • Review studies that include extensive reference lists may exceed the overall word limit for references only; the main body must not exceed 8,000 words. Such submissions must be clearly labelled as Literature Reviews.
  • An abstract (150–250 words) and at least four keywords must follow the title.
  • Upon submission, all authors and their affiliations must be entered in the submission metadata. Author-identifying information must be removed from the manuscript file itself for double-blind review. Replace all mentions of authors with “Author” and self-citations with “Deleted for Peer Review.”
  • Tables and figures are encouraged and must be embedded within the text.
  • Footnotes are not permitted; endnotes may be used sparingly and placed at the end of the article.
  • Supplemental files are not accepted. Any additional materials beyond appendices must be hosted externally with a stable link provided in the manuscript. Note that external materials will not be peer-reviewed or edited by LET-IN.
  • APA 7th edition style, referencing, and double-blind peer review requirements are strictly enforced. Manuscripts that do not meet submission guidelines will be returned without review.
  • By submitting to LET-IN, authors consent to originality checking via Turnitin or equivalent plagiarism-detection software.
  • Data collection and analysis must follow ethical standards, with appropriate regard for participant privacy. Authors must confirm compliance with relevant ethical guidelines for research involving human participants. Use of generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) must be explicitly acknowledged in the manuscript.
